  1. Prepare 1 cup soaked splits urad daal

  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp coriander seed
  7. Get 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  8. Get 8-10 curry leaves

  10. Get 1 tbsp dry red chilli +garlir paste
  11. Prepare 1/4 tsp fenugreek seed
  12. Take 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  13. Take 1/2 tsp garam masala
  14. Get 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  15. Make ready 1/2 tsp mustard seed
  16. Make ready 1 dry red chilli
  17. Take 1/4 tsp kashmiri lal mirch
  18. Make ready as needed Chopped coriander
  19. Get to taste Salt
Steps to make Spicy Urad dal kadhi:
  1. Collect all ingredients. Clean, washed and soaked urad daal in enough water in a bowl for 30min. Drain well. Combined the urad dal and 1/2 cup of water in a mixture jar. Make a thick paste. In a paste add, turmeric, pinch soda, garam masala, jeera, light salt and mix well.
  2. Now take a small piece of batter in a hand and turn round in shape slowly slowly. Heat oil for deep frying in a kadhai, when the oil become hot add pakoda batter to the hot oil. Once the pakoda are cooked lightly, turn over and cook the other side.
  3. Combine the 1/4 part of paste of urad dal, curds and 1½ cups of water in a deep bowl and mix well. Keep aside.Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, add thecumin seeds,coriander seed, fenugreek seed, asafoetida and curry leaves and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.now add red dry chilli and garlic paste and saute, Green chilli and pinch turmeric in oil.
  4. Add urad dal-curd mixture,salt mix well and cook on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirirng occasionally.
  5. Switch off the flame, add the coriander and mix well. For tadka add one tsp oil in a tadka pan, heat, add mustard seed, dry red chilli, curry leaves, and kashmiri lal mirch. Serve immediately with roti or rice.
