The ingredients needed to make Khoya / Mawa Gulab Jamun:
  1. Make ready 1 cup khoya / mawa
  2. Take 2 tbsp maida
  3. Make ready 1/4 tsp baking powder
  4. Get 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  5. Prepare 2-3 tbsp milk or water as required
  6. Prepare as needed Oil for frying
  7. Get For sugar syrup:-
  8. Take 1 1/2 cup sugar
  9. Make ready 3 cup water
  10. Prepare 1 tsp rose water
  11. Get 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  12. Prepare 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
Instructions to make Khoya / Mawa Gulab Jamun:
  1. For Sugar Syrup: - Add sugar, water, and cardamom pods to a large pot and stir with a spatula.
  2. Let the water boil till sugar syrup is slightly thick and forms almost 1 string consistency, but it should not be very thick.
  3. Now add lemon juice and stir well.
  4. Add rose water and mix well. Turn off the heat and cover it with a lid and set it aside.
  5. For Gulab Jamun: Add khoya to a large mixing bowl and knead it well for about 3 minutes.
  6. Add all purpose flour and knead to mix well.
  7. Now add baking powder. Knead again to make a smooth dough. Add some milk if needed.
  8. It should not be too dry or too dry or too wet. You should be able to roll out smooth balls with your palms.
  9. Fry dough balls on medium-low heat until gulab jamun become golden from all the sides.
  10. Remove and add them to the sugar syrup and let them cool for 5-6 minutes.
  11. Add gulab jamun to warm sugar syrup. Syrup should not be too hot.Let them soak in the sugar syrup for at least 2-3 hours or overnight. Serve this tasty gulab jamun.
